From the moment Tiffaney asked me to photograph this special event, I knew that my words would not compare to hers. I knew that there was no way I would be able to tell her story the way she would.
Thank you so much Tiffaney and Andy for letting Ryan and I experience this special moment with you. We had an amazing time and were happy to have met some amazing people!
And as always, ELK Creek Vineyards did not disappoint!
So for the very first time, I would like to introduce my guest blogger, Tiffaney!
Ten years...it amazes me. Not having a big wedding at first, we always said that we'd do something BiG for our 10. We planned and booked a trip to the Caribbean almost a year ago. Then last summer when my dad passed away unexpectedly, and my moms diagnosis was given- I knew I needed and wanted nothing more than to spend every minute that I could with her. I didn't know how we could- but I knew I wanted to take the summer off to be with my family. Expecting questions, I didn't get one... There was never any hesitation in his voice, only love and understanding. We had no idea how we were going to make things work- but he took the responsibility and never mentioned it again. For those moments I will always be grateful. As our 10 year anniversary was drawing near, I felt a small ping in my heart...that our fancy and elaborate Caribbean vacation was still not a possibility. We had come so far, we had so much I wanted to celebrate... Even though I convinced him I didn't care- and really I didn't. But I just knew that we would never be able to have this day back. We could never "redo" our ten year anniversary, just as we could never "redo" our wedding. I didn't need a tropical beach, or palm trees. But I wished so badly that we could still have a night that we would never forget. I decided then that I would surprise him.. That we would renew our vows- something small and simple. Needless to say, the night came together perfectly. A beautiful venue, my handsome husband, and the new vows we wrote for each other were the sweetest words ever spoken between us... An intimate setting and special night celebrating everything that we have shared over the last 10 years.
Say Hello to the man behind the amazingness at Holmes High School! Rex Sholar, a dad, a grandpa, a mentor to many, and all around amazing man. I feel totally blessed to be able to witness the mayor of Covington present him with a key to the city, and declare May 21st as "Rex Scholar Day". The superintendent, along with his proud dad, daughter, grandson, and all that hearts that he has touched were in attendance to celebrate REX SHOLAR!
I'm not even gonna attempt to put this into one big blog post...you might get bored. And I don't think I have time to get them all edited tonight...Leina needs sleep!
